Stacey Solomon shared with her 4.8 million followers on Thursday that after putting her one-month-old daughter Rose to bed, she decided to lighten up her hair colour after fiancé Joe Swash had arranged a dinner date for the pair later in the day.
She utilised the Instagram Story feature to document the process, with one post showing her mixing the hair dye products together.
When you feel like you’ve looked like an actual foot for so long and you just need a change
The 32-year-old wrote: “So this morning after the good feed (the one where Rose has the best nap) I decided to dye my hair…
“You know when you feel like you’ve looked like an actual foot for so long and you just need a change.”
The singer continued to mention that changing her hair colour was something she’d wanted to do for a while.
Since dinner plans were already in place with Joe, she decided to take things into her own hands, considering her usual hairdresser has been on maternity leave.
“I’ve been thinking about it for ages and Joe booked a meal for us today so I thought sod it and went for it.”
The X Factor alum soon realised she didn’t quite achieve the colour she wanted but remained hopeful that the final look would settle after a few washes.
Twenty minutes later, Stacey posted a selfie of herself while dyeing her hair before going on to quip that she resembled a “foot” in the hilarious photo.
“For all of you lovely humans saying I never look like a foot,” she wrote with a laughing emoji.
“I’m laughing so much at this picture I sent to my sister halfway through. I would usually got to my hairdresser to dye my hair but she’s on maternity too and I made the decision this morning so no one was available.
“So in case any of you are thinking of DIY… today I learned”, Stacey shared before listing out all the things not to do when commencing with the process of dyeing her hair, which were not to wear white; performing the entire task in a shower and making sure not to get any of the product on her eyebrows to prevent accidental staining.
It was just last month when Stacey announced she had given birth to her first baby girl, who shares the same birthday as her mother — October 4.
But the Loose Women star revealed just days after welcoming her bundle of joy that she’d been faced with the struggle of not being able to breastfeed after leaving the hospital.
She sought answers from mothers who’ve dealt with similar issues as she asked fans to chime in on any advice they could share, admitting that the ordeal had left her feeling “sad”.
And to make matters worse, this hadn’t been the first time Stacey struggled to breastfeed, having previously told her fans that she experienced the same problem after welcoming her two-year-old son Rex.
In her Instagram Story post, she wrote: “I’m struggling again with feeding this time around so spending all of my energy trying to feed, eat and rest”.
“Also seeing local breastfeeding specialists and the community midwives who have been incredible so hoping for a more positive journey, in the end, this time but not putting pressure on myself.
“Even though it makes me a bit sad, whatever will be will be.”
Stacey concluded her message by thanking her fans who have supported her during some of her most challenging moments, sharing in one DM in particular that: “I just wanted to say, I know these days can be the hard ones. Keep going. You’re doing amazing mummy.”
“Your messages are just everything, especially on these days when the milk is coming in and the oxytocin is on its way out.”
Just two weeks after Rose’s birth did Loose Women co-hosts Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore pay Stacey and Joe a visit at their home to give fans of the ITV show an update on how their pal and colleague was doing after expanding her family with a fourth child.
Nadia expressed: “Jane and I rushed for the first week of [Stacey’s young son] Rex as well, there’s something about seeing a baby in the first few weeks.
“They’re still making all those gorgeous womb movements, she was just teeny and perfect!”
The 57-year-old went on to say how “amazing” Stacey looked, adding: “She’s so happy, and Joe was just buzzing around and looking after Rex, it was really a privilege.
“It feels like little Rose is the magical little piece of the puzzle making it complete.”
