Arrest Made In Theft Of Tom Petty Guitars, Guns And Unreleased Music

Law enforcement agents have reportedly arrested the person who allegedly broke into a storage unit that belonged to the late Tom Petty in San Fernando Valley last month and stole valuables worth at least $100,000, including guitars, guns and hard drives containing unreleased tracks.

Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reports the person being held confessed to the crime. He has been arrested for burglary.

The authorities have also reportedly recovered the hard drives and the guns and are said to be pursing some leads to recover other stolen instruments.

Petty passed away in 2017. Two albums, An American Treasure and The Best of Everything, were released after his death.
