Charges dropped against man involved in street fight with A$AP Rocky

The Swedish Prosecution Authority has dropped all charges against one of the men involved in the street fight that resulted in A$AP Rocky being detained in a Stockholm prison, Page Six has learned.

A spokesperson for the Swedish Prosecution Authority told us only one of the men had been under investigation after Rocky’s bodyguard filed a counter-notice following the brawl. He was being held on suspicion of “abuse, assault and attempted assault.”

“The preliminary investigation in that matter is now discontinued and the injured party is no longer suspected of any crime,” the Swedish Prosecution Authority said in a press release Monday.

Senior Public Prosecutor Daniel Suneson, who is in charge of the investigation, explained the decision, pointing out that Rocky’s bodyguard “repeatedly” asked the unnamed man to leave.

“When he refuses to leave, the other person first pushes him away and then takes a grip around the other persons neck and lifts him away a few meters. In this situation, the person throws his headphones on the notifier, and tries to hand out battles, which may be considered as right to self-defense,” he said.

Prosecutors said the investigation against Rocky, 30, and two members of his team is still ongoing.

On Friday, the Swedish Prosecution Authority announced that Suneson had requested a time extension and that Rocky and his team would be held at the Kronoberg Detention Center until July 25, when a decision would be made on how to indict them.

President Donald Trump has vowed to intervene in Rocky’s case, saying that he will speak to the Swedish prime minister to “see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky,” following discussions with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Toni Eriksson, a spokesman for Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, said it was “pointed out” to Trump that “everyone is equal before the law and that the government neither can nor will try to influence the judicial process,” according to CNN.

A rep for the Swedish Prosecution Authority previously told us, it is “not possible for the US President to have any influence on the Swedish legal procedure.”
