DJ Khaled paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle by performing a song featuring the slain rapper from his new album on the “Saturday Night Live” stage.
The rapper-producer-DJ sang alongside Meek Mill and John Legend a medley of three tracks taken from his new album, Father of Asahd, which was released last Friday.
Hussle’s image was projected behind them during the performance of “Just Us,” “Weather the Storm” and “Higher”.
“Long live Nipsey Hussle, the marathon continues,” said Khaled in reference to Hussle’s Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles, where he was shot down on March 31.
“Higher” was recorded just a few days before Hussle was shot to death.
Khaled had announced that 100 percent of proceeds from “Higher” will go to the late rapper’s children, Emani and Kross.
