Gaz Beadle has revealed his wife Emma McVey has finally returned home following her extended hospital stay after her open heart surgery.
Emma went to hospital to fix a valve and three holes in her heart, but shortly after this she suffered a collapsed lung – which is "the hardest thing" their family has ever gone through.
Now, after over a week under care of medical staff, Emma has returned home to continue her recovery from her own bed. And clearly overjoyed to have her back, Gaz took to his Instagram feed to share a selfie with her.
The snap sees the Geordie Shore star dressed in black jogging bottoms with a grey jumper as he smiles for the camera.
Meanwhile his wife Emma wears a pink and red polkadot pyjama set with fluffy socks.
"Going to be pjs and slippers for a while… Amazing to have you home," Gaz wrote in the caption with a red heart emoji. "now time for recovery over the next few month… onwards and upwards," followed by a praying hands emoji.
Celebrity pal Holly Hagan was first to respond as she posted two red heart emojis in support of the update.
Many of his 3.7million followers also commented, sharing their wishes for her speedy recovery following the surgery.
"Wishing all the best and speedy recovery for your family xx," one person wrote as another chimed: "Welcome home Emma , wishing you a speedy recovery. You must be so glad to be home with your babies," with a hearts emoji.
A third posted: "I wish you good health darling take care of yourself keep smiling let you beautiful famliy look after you xx," with a red heart emoji.
While a fourth added: "So glad Emma is okay! Wishing you a speedy recovery but for now enjoy being waited on hand and foot by Gaz".
No doubt their children are thrilled to have their mum back too as Gaz recently spoke of how much Chester, five, and Primrose, three, were missing her.
Taking to Instagram earlier this week, Gaz shared a video showing son Chester riding a bike without stabilisers for the first time, and he was an immediate pro.
Gaz told his followers: "At a time where we all just need a little boost at a crazy time for us, out of the blue Chester just asked for his stabilisers off he has been on a balance bike for ages but never really bothered with pedals so was a surprise…
"But literally took them off and off he went… a special moment that put a smile on mummy and daddy’s face… kids are the best thing ever.
"Hard at times but these little moments make u forget them all… Chester is missing mummy a lot so this has defo taken his mind off things and really helped."
At the time, Emma commented on the post saying: "Such a big boy who’s done mummy soooo proud this week," with three red love hearts.
