Green Day will debut their new song “Here Comes the Shock” during this weekend’s outdoor NHL hockey game in Nevada.
“Here Comes the Shock” will be played during the second intermission of the “NHL’s Outdoors at Lake Tahoe” game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knight on Saturday, February 20.
“The song will be featured in a highlight reel of the top plays of the first quarter of the 2020-21 NHL season,” the NHL said in a press release.
The debut of the song and highlight video are part of the NHL’s two-year promotional partnership with the band. “Here Comes the Shock” will be available on February 21 on all music services, including Apple Music and Spotify.
This marks the second year of the NHL’s collaboration with Green Day.
Green Day’s music will be featured throughout the remainder of the 2020-21 season, the NHL said.
The rock band will embark on a global stadium tour, dubbed “The Hella Mega Tour,” with Fall Out Boy and Weezer on June 9.
