Dan Walker, 44, has shown his competitive side this morning while preparing for Strictly Come Dancing 2021’s impending launch at the weekend. The BBC Breakfast presenter admitted “I’m going to have to give up all jobs,” as he shared his concerns about keeping up with his fellow Strictly stars and all the dance training they’ve been doing.
It comes after Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, 26, took to Twitter to tell his 130,000 followers he was up in the early hours of the morning to practice his moves with his professional dance partner, whose identity hasn’t been revealed yet.
The sportsman wrote: “Me up at 5am to dance with my @bbcstrictly partner.”
He also shared a GIF of a man smiling alongside the caption “hide the pain”.
However, Adam’s tweet sparked concerns from his fellow competitor Dan, who has a packed schedule with all of his work commitments, including hosting BBC Breakfast from Monday to Wednesday.
Dan jokingly admitted he would need to cut down on his work schedule in order to compete with Adam and his training regimen for the BBC show.
The star replied to Adam: “Again? You’re making me think I’m undercooking my training.
“I’m going to have to give up all jobs.
“Have a good one. Dig in,” the presenter added, alongside two laughing face emojis.
It comes after Dan shared a video of himself from “Strictly base camp” in view of his 722,000 Twitter followers last night.
The star wrote alongside the clip: “Update from #Strictly base camp
“I know I look a bit tired. I’ve actually trained for more hours than I’ve slept so far this week.”
In the video, Dan said: “Hello, little Strictly update for you. Day two in the training room and I love it, it’s so much fun.

Louise Minchin admits what really pushed her to quit BBC Breakfast [OPINION]
“Why has no one told me that learning to dance could be this enjoyable before?
“It’s brilliant, the professional dancers are just incredible.
“I can’t tell you anything about who mine is, I can’t give you any clues, I can’t post any pictures, because I’m sure I’ll give it away somehow.
“You’ll find out on the launch show this coming Saturday who I’ve been partnered with, but I can tell you she’s brilliant and I’m learning an awful lot from her.
“Well, hopefully some of it is going in, I can’t tell you what we’re dancing either or what music we’ve got but it’s fun and I really hope you enjoy it.”
Dan went on to address his BBC Breakfast co-host Louise Minchin’s departure from the programme after 20 years.
Louise’s last day was yesterday, as she bid an emotional farewell to Dan, who was her regular co-star on the show, and the rest of the team.
Dan continued in his video: “And all this follows on from saying goodbye to the lovely Louise Minchin on BBC Breakfast earlier on today.
“Louise, if you do get the chance to watch this, I know you’re very busy, but we all will really miss you and make sure you watch the first dance that I do live on Strictly. I think you’ll like it,” he teased.
