Kate Ferdinand has revealed one of her husband Rio's children had a "serious accident" over the weekend.
The 31 year old former TOWIE star, who was recently mum-shamed over a family Christmas photo, didn't specify which of 44 year old Rio's kids had the accident, but explained that "they are ok" after being fitted for a cast on the leg.
Rio is dad to three kids Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11, who he has from his marriage to his first wife Rebecca Ellison, who died in 2015 following a battle with cancer. Meanwhile he and Kate share two year old son Cree together.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Kate posted a photo of her bed with her dog as she told her 1.4million followers: "Morning guys, it's a different type of Monday for me this week, it's been a really stressful weekend!"
"One of the kids had a serious accident, thank goodness they are ok & have only ended up with their leg in a cast, it could have been much worse, we are definitely being watched over," she continued with a stars emoji.
Kate went on to share a second piece of news regarding her own health as she told her followers that she's been suffering with shingles recently.
"I also have shingles," she wrote with a sad face emoji. "Feeling really rubbish & sore & emotional from this weekends events!
"So me & Rons are chilling in bed for the morning," with a white heart emoji.
It comes after Kate recently confessed her step-children torment her by replaying old episodes of TOWIE that she starred in.
Speaking to Vicky Pattison, 35, on her The Secret To… podcast, Kate described the children as "proper wind ups!"
Kate, who recently shared details of her intense workout regime with her "vile" daily habit, continued: "They'll say, 'I'm watching the best thing on YouTube, and I'll come in and they've got an old episode of me on and it's me crying or something!
"When they do this to me – it's not the way I talk, the way I hold myself – everything about me is different.
"It's like a different person and they find it hilarious!"
Kate appeared on the ITVBe show for two series, joining in 2015.
During her time on the structured reality show, viewers followed her on-off again relationship with ex Dan Edgar.
She spoke to Vicky about what's been like being a step-mum, as well as stepping into that role in the public eye.
She said: "I didn’t think about it too much in depth but, when I was, walking the journey, I found there was lots of difficult moments.
"The children have been through a lot, Rio’s been through a lot, it’s a lot to take on, and I really felt like I needed to speak to people and I didn’t know where to turn."
"I felt like nobody I knew had been through something similar. I'm so grateful that I can share my experience and help people."
She added: "I fell into it, you have to. I'm a bit of an organised freak.
"It can be a good thing getting everyone in line but it can be a bad thing because sometimes you need to let go and go with the flow.
"It's the best job ever. When you have children you appreciate everything but they're very tiring and draining. A complete rollercoaster!"
