Kirstie Allsopp has responded to broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson, branding him a “legend” amid his urge for people to get vaccinated. The former Top Gear presenter took to Twitter earlier after his comments in a recent interview landed him in hot water.

Jeremy weighed in with his thoughts on vaccines in view of his 7.4 million followers on Twitter.

He penned: “If you really want to know what I think: get vaccinated.

“It’s not a government plot,” he continued. “Governments can’t even mend pot holes.”

His thoughts led him to be praised by Location, Location, Location star on social media.

Replying to his tweet, Kirstie simply wrote: “Legend”.

Jeremy’s tweet has racked up more than 70,000 likes since it was put up with many praising him for his comments.

However, The Grand Tour presenter felt compelled to clarify his comments earlier after he was criticised by many.

The broadcaster had spoken to Radio Times about his view on Covid lockdowns.

He said: “I think the politicians should sometimes tell those communists at Sage to get back in their box.

“Let’s just all go through life with our fingers crossed and a smile on our face.

“I can see Boris doesn’t want to open it up and shut us back down again.

“But if it’s going to be four years … and who knows, it could be 40 years.”

Jeremy then added: “I read in The Times it will be forever.

“Well, if it’s going to be forever, let’s open it up and if you die, you die.”

His comments sparked backlash, with some taking to social media to criticise his words.

One user in particular penned to him: “@JeremyClarkson I wonder if you’d be happy to say this to the kids that have lost parents ‘if you die you die’.

“I’ve had to witness young kids saying goodbye to parents.

“You clearly have no idea what has been happening in our intensive care units!”

Jeremy then hit back: You didn’t read what I said either.

“You people drive me up the wall with your belligerence and stupidity.”

Jeremy also said in a separate tweet: “What I said was that “IF WE HAVE COVID FOR EVER” we are just going to have to open stuff up and accept that if we die, we die.” (sic)
