Denise Welch is one of many celebrities who has shared their thoughts about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversial documentary. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the first three episodes of their series last Thursday and three more will be shared on Netflix this week.
On the day of its release, 64-year-old Denise hit out at those slamming the couple.
She wrote: “The vile responses to the H & M documentary show that they are much better in the US and did the right thing for them.
“The nastiness directed towards them is terrifying.”
The Loose Women panellist went on to point out royal scandals that have occured over the years, insisting Harry stepping back is nowhere near as bad.
Denise has been a supporter of the pair ever since they left the Royal Family in 2020.
In the documentary, the couple discuss their reasoning behind the move as well as press intrusion, racism and their relationship.
They currently live in America with their two children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
Back in August, Denise backed Meghan after she claimed the N-word was used towards her children.
Speaking on the Loose Women panel, she said: “I do seem to be in the minority, I think that Meghan Markle can do nothing right and hasn’t been able to since the beginning.
“To live in a world where she is denigrated so badly everyday, even when she was suffering incredibly mental health issues with a child, I don’t know how she survives sometimes.”
Her comments prompted her co-star Jane Moore to chime in: “You can’t say I want privacy but then she’s inviting the journalists into her life.”
“She wants privacy from unwanted attention,” Denise responded, passionately.

Gloria Hunniford went on to say that Meghan told “some fibs” during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Hitting back, Denise said: “What and the royal family have never told any lies either?
“I think there’s some whoppers that we’re not allowed to talk about, but anyway.”
Harry and Meghan will release the final half of their documentary this week.
A short trailer shows the pair discussing their 2018 wedding which was attended by many celebrities.
The couple can also be seen dancing in a series of never before seen photos as Wilson Pickett’s Land of 1000 Dances plays over the montage.
“I just really wanted the music to be fun,” Meghan says. “Even our first dance, song of a thousand dances, a thousand… I always get it wrong.”
She goes on to attempt to remember the words to the song as several playful images of her and Prince Harry are shown.
“That was our first dance. It was so fun,” the former Suits star added. “Just spinning like a whirlwind, it was so great.”
