Louise Redknapp, 45, worried she’ll stay “single forever” after her sons gave their verdict on her love life. The TV personality admitted getting back into the dating game during lockdown has been hard following her split from ex-husband Jamie Redknapp in 2018, but their two boys Charles, 16, and Beau, 11, aren’t too fond of the idea.

It’s not looking positive to me when it comes to a love life

In a recent interview, she revealed she finds it “difficult to date” with two sons.

“I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to have a boyfriend,” she laughed.

“First of all the 16-year-old is like: ‘How are they going to get past me?’

“I’ll never know. Sometimes I say: ‘How would you feel if I went on a date?’ and they say, ‘I don’t want to talk about it!'”

And if having two lads standing in the way was challenging enough, the coronavirus lockdown is making things even worse for poor Louise.

“It’s not looking positive to me when it comes to a love life,” she admitted.

“I still haven’t been on a date!

“Lockdown is not helping me in the dating world,” she told The Mirror.

But this may not come as a shock to Louise, who previously mentioned to You Magazine that she had been single for over a year.

She said: “I’ve been single for a year and a half now and no one is ringing me up asking me for a date.

“That’s all I’m saying. But who knows? At the moment, I just don’t know if that’s ever going to happen.”

Earlier this year in an Instagram Live, the Stretch hitmaker confessed to feeling “lonely” when the lockdown was still in full force.

She said: “I think it feels like it’s being going on for a long time now and I think the longer it goes on the more we panic about jobs and for me it can be quite lonely.

“I’m here and it’s great with the kids but I’m used to going out working and being creative, so it’s tough.”

She revealed Jamie had been coming over even when he didn’t have the children himself.

The pair officially split in 2018, with Louise describing her decision to leave him and restart her career as the “first selfish thing I’ve done”.

She admitted that although nobody “understood”, she felt like she’s finally “come back to who I really am”.

Following their divorce, she released new music and appeared in the West End.
