Love Island’s Megan Barton-Hanson quits plastic surgery after therapy

Megan Barton-Hanson has revealed she's going to stop having plastic surgery following a breakthrough in her therapy sessions.

The former Love Island star has always been open about the work she's had done, and takes great pride in her looks for her career as a model and influencer.

But the 27 year old, who recently called it quits with TOWIE star James Lock, insisted she’s in the “most content place she’s ever been,” and doesn’t feel the requirement for any more cosmetic procedures.

The model’s last surgery under the knife was for a breast implant reduction, after losing weight left her feeling out of proportion with the rest of her body.

And now the star is determined to stop changing her appearance, as she explained it gives the internet and trolls even more opportunities to write "savage" things about her, as well as plenty to google.

"While I was in the Love Island villa in 2018, an image of me aged 15 circulated," the blonde beauty told Grazia magazine.

"The media started picking out what they deemed ‘flaws’ in my appearance."

"It was undeniably cruel and unnecessary to compare images of me during my teen years to myself almost 10 years later."

The star went on to say that she has always struggled with the criticism, calling it “hard to deal with”.

Thankfully, through the assistance of professionals and a number of therapy sessions, she’s finally turned a corner.

Megan shared: “I restarted therapy and can confidently say I'm in the best, most content place I've ever been – mentally and physically."

Megan's love life has been rocky over the last two years, and has also been the catalyst for some of her decisions to change her appearance and start over.

The reality TV star broke up with her ex-girlfriend Chelcee Grimes in 2020 after her romance with Wes Nelson had broken down before that, and she said it made her want to "put herself first" for once.

Towards the end of 2021, Megan also embarked on a romance with TOWIE's Lockie, but things fizzled out after just a few months.

During a recent Q&A with her fans on Instagram, Megan revealed things "just didn't work out" between them.
