Country star Maren Morris has signed a worldwide administration deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.
“I have loved working with the staff at UMPG for a while, just through the past years of writing with their songwriters,” Morris said in a statement,
“So to officially be in the UMPG family feels like coming home in a way,” she added. “I am so looking forward to our partnership together and can’t wait for the songs to come.”
Morris just earned her third No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay Chart with “Girl,” making her the first female artist to top the chart in over a year.
“Girl,” the title song from Morris second studio album, was written by Morris with Greg Kurstin and Sarah Aarons. Morris is currently touring in support of the album.
“Maren displays fearlessness and energy in every lyric, every melody and every performance,” said Troy Tomlinson, UMPG Nashville’s chairman/CEO.
He added, “UMPG is so happy to have the opportunity to represent a talent of her caliber and looks forward to delivering outstanding creative opportunities.”
