Naga Munchetty, 46, has travelled to a number of exotic destinations and as a result has tasted a number of diverse cuisines and dishes, including jellyfish. She found the rare delicacy to be “delicious” and addressed whether she would be able to handle the gruelling Bushtucker Trials as seen on the reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

I really wouldn’t

Naga told Alan Carr on his podcast Life’s A Beach how on a previous holiday she had eaten crickets.

The comedian hilariously replied: “You should go on I’m A Celebrity! You would be like, ‘Yum this is all delicious’.”

However, the broadcaster admitted she can only eat food that has been thoroughly cooked.

She responded: “I really wouldn’t, I wouldn’t eat anything alive.”

However, the BBC Breakfast host further stunned Alan when she made the revelation that she’d tried a dangerous marine animal.

She continued: “Jellyfish, I really liked jellyfish when I ate it.”

Alan exclaimed: “What’s wrong with you? Why would you eat a jellyfish? Sea urchins they’re just not meant to be eaten!”

Naga explained: “Oh come on you can say that about anything. It’s how they are cooked, jellyfish was gorgeous. Shredded, it was beautiful.”

Alan struggled to understand how the poisonous marine creature would taste remotely edible.

He asked: “Does it taste like jelly?”

Naga admitted: “Yeah a little bit.”

She also revealed in the chat that she does not have “many celeb friends” as she explained how most of her close pals are those who work off-screen.

The broadcaster did divulge, however, that she would consider going on a trip abroad with her colleague Dan Walker if the occasion ever arose.

Speaking on if she had ever been on a holiday with showbiz pals, Naga said: “I did do one trip to Bermuda with Nick Knowles, Dennis Waterman, Michael Winsor, who is the hand of Basil Brush, and that was a really interesting trip, seeing how people got on with each other.

“There was Steve Coppell, ex-Crystal Palace, ah it was a very funny trip but I don’t really have many celeb friends.”

Alan replied: “Really?”

Naga quipped: “Don’t feel sorry for me, we’re all human. We all poop and fart.

“You don’t have to be famous on tele to have a good time.”

Alan questioned if Naga would ever consider a holiday with her colleague Dan.

She responded: “Why not?”
