Amanda Owen, who is best known as the shepherdess in Our Yorkshire Farm, has addressed her baby plans in an interview published today. Her comments came before the Channel 5 star and husband Clive Owen admitted they were going through a “rocky patch” last week.

The 47-year-old recently defended her relationship with her husband Clive Owen, 66, as she addressed the “stresses and strains” of marriage last week.

It comes as the couple opened up about their marriage struggles in a joint statement on Wednesday.

The pair have been married for 21 years and share nine children together.

The Yorkshire family, who have captivated audiences on their Channel 5 reality show, admitted that their marriage is not perfect.

Asked if she would have anymore children, Amanda opened up in a new interview just before her marriage woes surfaced.

She told OK! magazine: “I don’t know! If anyone knows anything it’s honestly that I have not got a plan. I plan for today and maybe tomorrow and that’s where it stops.

“I think we should all give ourselves a bit of a break when it comes to parenting. As long as the kids are happy, well-fed and washed… that will do!”

Amanda and Clive are already parents to Raven, 20, Reuben, 18, Miles, 15, Edith, 13, Violet, 11, Sidney, nine, Anna, seven, Clemmy, six, and five-year-old Nancy.

The small-screen star also opened up on the “secret” to their long-lasting marriage.

“Everything we do is interchangeable. Clive will serve afternoon tea and change nappies, I’ll shear sheep and shovel s**t,” she told the same publication.

“It doesn’t matter who does what, we’re all on the same side.”

Amanda and Clive later spoke out about their marriage after it was claimed they were going through a difficult time.

The couple addressed reports that said the mum-of-nine had spent nights away from the family’s Ravenseat Farm.

On October 12, a representative for the shepherdess said they hadn’t split and that she hadn’t moved out of the family home in Swaledale as claimed.

In a joint statement, Amanda and Clive later confirmed: “With the TV show and the books we’ve always aimed to show the reality of life on the farm, and just like any marriage we have our stresses and strains, coupled with all the complexities of what we do on the farm and bringing up nine kids.

“We’re a normal family and we’ve never said our marriage is perfect.

“Unfortunately the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we’re going through.

“We ask that the media respect our privacy as we work through this.”

Meanwhile, Amanda and her family have returned to viewers’ screens for the latest of their Channel 5 reality series.

Our Yorkshire Farm continues tomorrow on Channel 5 at 9pm.
