Angel Strawbridge, 43, left many fans to take to Twitter during tonight’s episode of Escape to the Chateau as she had a very “unusual choice” of sandwich for a children’s party. The Channel 4 star made rose petal and honey sandwiches for her children’s British themed tea party.

The sweetness is lovely.

On this evening’s episode, Angel and her husband Dick were preparing for their first party in over two years.

They were getting ready for a party they were hosting for their children, taking place at the 45-bedroom Chateau de la Motte Husson in Pays de la Loire.

Angel surprised many fans with her rather different choice of sandwich for the event.

Dick said: “This is a sandwich that I have never seen anywhere before other than when Mummy makes it.

Rose then showed her children Arthur and Dorothy how to make the sandwiches.

The family then all tried the sandwiches, with Dorothy liking the invention.

Angel added: “The sweetness is lovely, but you can taste the Rose in it can’t you?”

Dick replied: “Well, it’s gone from okay to pretty good now, which is good.”

Fans of the show took to Twitter to express their opinion on the new sandwich.

Sewingyorkie said: “Rose petal sandwiches, unusual choice for a children’s picnic #notsure #escapetothechatau.”

Chuckles33 added: “Never had the opportunity to taste a rose petal sandwich… but equally not sure I need to. #EscapetotheChataeu.”

Su_Martin_ continued: “Honey & rose petal sandwich.

“This is something I need to try #EscapetotheChatau.”

Dick and Angel have lived at their French chateau for six years.

During this time, they’ve been renovating their dream home and taking viewers along with them on their Channel 4 show.

Viewers of the hit series Escape to the Chateau have been able to keep up to date with their progress over the past few years.

However, despite relocating to France, Angel has admitted recently she still gets a “weird” feeling when she leaves the Chateau.

Speaking to Annie O’Leary and Wendy Golledge on the Sweat, Snot and Tears podcast, she shared more.

Angel explained: “It is really weird because whenever we go back to England, we say, ‘We’re going home.’”

Escape to the Chateau continues on Channel 4 every Sunday at 8pm.
