Squid Game’s HoYeon Jung Is Louis Vuitton’s Newest Global Ambassador

HoYeon Jung has scored a major fashion partnership after the global success of Squid Game.

The Korean model and actor, who plays Kang Sae-byeok (No. 067) in the Netflix k-drama, is Louis Vuitton’s newest Global House Ambassador for fashion, watches and jewelry. Since making her impressive acting debut in Squid Game, Jung has become the most popular Korean actress on Instagram, gaining over 12 million followers and counting in less than a month, per NME.

The French luxury house announced their new ambassador on Wednesday, with a pic of Jung modeling a white oversized jacket with gold buttons and gold detailing on the collars and sleeves. She also wears black-and-white slingback heels and holds a black Twist handbag.

“It is an honor to start my acting career with Louis Vuitton, the brand I have modeled for. I look forward to all the moments with Louis Vuitton as a global ambassador,” she said in a press release, per People.

Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière said in a statement, “I immediately fell in love with HoYeon’s great talent and fantastic personality, and I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of the journey we started at Louis Vuitton a few years ago.”

The 27-year old has worked with Louis Vuitton before. The top model made her Paris Fashion Week debut as an exclusive in Louis Vuitton’s 2017 spring ready-to-wear show, walking the runway in a corset leather dress and fiery red hair. She has also walked for Chanel Haute Couture, Bottega Venetta, Fendi, and Prabal Gurung, among other brands.

Jung recently opened up to Teen Vogue about balancing her ongoing modeling and newfound acting careers.

“I hope I can do both but, physically, I think if I got a role or a new series came in, then I’d have to focus on the shooting. At that moment, I don’t think I can do modeling at the same time as acting, but, if I don’t have a time [where I need to be shooting], then I could do modeling. I could manage. I’m a very flexible person!” she said.
