Steph McGovern, 39, was feeling nostalgic after she came across an advert of herself for BBC Breakfast, two years after she left the show. The Packed Lunch star announced her departure to begin her own self-titled show (later renamed Packed Lunch) on Channel 4, but it seems she’s sill considered one of the BBC family until they replace the enlarged images on Media City’s walls.
Two years after leaving I’m still on the BBC Breakfast poster!
Taking to Instagram, the presenter was pleasantly surprised to see herself up there alongside regulars Dan Walker, Louise Minchin, Naga Munchetty, Charlie Stayt, Carol Kirkwood and Sally Nugent.
She penned: “Walked past the building I used to work in at Media City.
“I look up… ‘I know her’.

Alongside the caption she shared a series of photos of herself standing under the blown-up version.
The imagery, taken a few years ago, saw Steph sport her iconic pixie haircut before growing it out.
Taking to the comments section, fans were stunned it had been two years since her last show, and praised her for starting out on her own.
“Best thing you ever did leaving Steph, you have your own excellent show now… there is no stopping you,” one applauded.
Another added: “It’s been a weird 2 years to be honest.”
“Ha fabulous!” a third cheered.
A fourth teased: “Because they want you back.”
“You are the best fantastic presenter!! Always,” a fifth praised.
While a sixth joked: “Your legacy lives on!”
Someone else pointed out that the billboard would soon feature another presenter who has left the show.
Louise announced she would be quitting BBC Breakfast earlier this year and her last day next week has come around pretty quickly.
Steph took to social media to wish her former colleague good luck in the “next chapter” of her life.
The 39-year-old shared a short boomerang video which captured Louise making a speech at her leaving do.
After almost 20 years on the breakfast programme, she will present her last show on Wednesday.
The pair came together, along with members of the cast and crew, to bid an emotional farewell to their colleague and watched footage of their best moments together.
“Lovely to see everyone at Lou’s leaving do. A reminder of all the fun we had on @BBCBreakfast,” Steph wrote on Twitter, in view of her 414,500 followers.
“On to the next chapter @louiseminchin which I’m sure will be something adventurous and you’ll smash it like you always do.
“Good luck and thanks for everything honey #TVfamily,” she added.
