Tamzin Outhwaite says Nicholas Lyndhurst ‘could not have been more proud’ of late son Archie

Tamzin Outhwaite has paid tribute to Archie Lyndhurst after he tragically passed away at the age of 19.

The 49 year old starred alongside Archie's dad Nicholas, 59, in New Tricks from 2010 to 2015.

Former EastEnders star Tamzin has now taken to social media to heartbreakingly reveal how Archie's mum and dad "could not have been more proud of him."

Taking to Twitter, she wrote her 233,000 followers: "I am utterly devastated at the news that beautiful Archie Lyndhurst has passed.

"Lucy and Nic could not have been more proud of him. Such a talent.

"Knowing them, they would want their privacy protected right now, so they may grieve in peace. R.I.P beautiful Archie."


Only Fools and Horses legend Nicholas broke his silence on Thursday, shortly after the news of his passing was announced by CBBC on Thursday.

Nicholas said in a short statement: "Lucy and I are utterly grief stricken and respectfully request privacy."

Nicholas' former co-stars on the iconic BBC sitcom were quick to pay tribute to their pal's son, with John Challis saying: "The saddest news of all today. The death of Archie Lyndhurst, just starting out on his chosen career in acting.

"My heart aches for Nick and Lucy. They could not have loved him more."

Sue Holderness, who played John's on-screen wife, added: "My heart goes out to his Mum and Dad and to all who knew him."

CBBC paid their own tribute to their star, informing fans: "We're so sorry to have to tell you that Archie Lyndhurst, who so brilliantly played Ollie in So Awkward on CBBC, has very sadly died after a short illness."

His passing was confirmed as his mum, Lucy, paid tribute to the actor by commenting on a post by Archie's best friend.

Lucy commented on the heartbreaking social media post by Game of Thrones star Samuel Small, writing: "He will love you and watch over you forever. Love you dearly."

So Awkward star Archie's death is no longer being actively investigated by police after being treated as "unexplained but not suspicious."
