10 Wild & Heartbreaking Details We Learned From Prince Harry's Bombshell Memoir 'Spare'

Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare isn’t even officially out yet and it’s already taking over the headlines. From NSFW confessions about his virginity to first-time claims against his brother Prince William, Harry is telling the world he’s not afraid to share his truth, even if it means severing some ties.

Among Harry’s confessions was the physical fight that broke out between him and William about Meghan Markle. “It all happened so fast,” the royal wrote, per The Guardian. “He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

Elsewhere in the book, Harry opened up about the grief of losing his mom, Princess Diana, at just 12 years old. In his search for closure, the royal went all the way to France and drove down the tunnel where she was killed. “‘She’s dead,’ I thought. My God, she’s really gone for good. I got the closure I was pretending to seek. I got it in spades. And now I’d never be able to get rid of it,” he confessed, per Us Weekly.

According to the official synopsis of the book, which releases Jan 10, this is Harry’s “story at last.” It reads, “With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”
