M&S unveils new collection of floral dresses and on-trend footwear with prices starting at £6.50

MARKS and Spencer have unveiled their autumn/winter collection with a back to basics range which has something for everyone.

From coats for every customer whatever their style, floral and check prints, easy shirt dresses and of course comfortable underwear and footwear – the new range will see you through the colder months in style.

Following the relaxed, lockdown dress code of summer, M&S have continued the nation's mood with oversized shapes, stylish loose tailoring and layering to maintain the same level of comfort we now can't shake.

This season also sees the return of their Goodmove range which is their activewear line for gym enthusiasts or those that embrace the great outdoors.

In geometric prints and muted colours with breathable technology and stretch fabrics for optimum comfort and style – whatever your fitness level – its spot on.

Lingerie is their biggest seller, selling 24 million bras a year and as of March they have an all-time record 37.5 per cent of the market in bras.

  • Floral Tattoo Print Cami Set, M&s, £25 – buy now

In an attempt to lift their sales, they are launching a new collection of lingerie called Boutique.

From floral designs to punchy polka dots the range is more modern than their classic underwear and more playful and fun than their sexy styles from Autograph with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The range isn't groundbreaking or pushing any style boundaries, but in the current pandemic and financial climate it's a safe and pleasing collection that loyal M&S shoppers will snap up.

  • Geometric Belted Midi Shirt Dress, M&S, £39.50 – buy now

Naturally due to Covid-19, a lack of spending and reduced high street footfall, the brand announced last month that it was cutting a whopping 7,000 staff over the next three months due to a “material shift” in trading as a result of the pandemic.

Most of the cuts will impact its 60,000 shop floor work force as well as head office roles and regional management.

And those losses are reflected in their brand new autumn/winter collection. Contemporary, hard-working “basics” may be a somewhat mean way of describing the range but from shirt dresses to boots and underwear, M&S still can provide a new season wardrobe for every woman – and all at a purse friendly price.

Meanwhile Shoppers are loving a Primark dress which looks just like Killing Eve star Villanelle’s iconic outfit & it costs £15.

Plus here's what to wear in Autumn, the key fashion trends for 2020 to keep you warm and cosy.

And Stacey Solomon shares huge Primark haul for her and the kids… including a £4 hat which has given her instant regrets.
