The 5 outfits we hope are in Rihanna's coffee-table book

The style icon is releasing a visual biography with Phaidon. We decode our top 5 Rihanna looks of all time.

Is there anything that Rihanna can’t do? The singer has racked up an impressive CV since her debut Umbrella hit the charts in 2008; she’s since added beauty entrepreneur, fashion and lingerie designer to her roster of skills. And the release of her first ever book will see her add publishing to her list of industry’s she has conquered.

The singer took to Instagram to announce her visual autobiography — published by Phaidon, the book has been some five years in the making. As with anything Rihanna does, this autobiography is anything but traditional; instead of documenting her rise to world domination, the 504-page coffee table book will instead be a visual book filled with images of the singer wearing some of her best ever looks.

Perhaps more than any other celebrity, Rihanna’s style is worthy of such a tome — her diverse dress sense gives her global relatability and sees her wearing sweatpants and sneakers one day, to a structured blazer and ball gown the next.

In anticipation of the book’s release on October 24, we decode the top five looks we hope will be included.

1. Met Ball 2018

Remember when Rihanna went to the Met Ball dressed as the Pope and conquered fashion? Encrusted all over with crystals and pearls, the bishop’s mitre and cloak was made by Maison Margiela and will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the best Met Gala looks ever.

2. Rihanna in Molly Goddard

Our favourite singer in our favourite British designer is ranking in at number 2 on the Stylist hotlist. Rihanna looked every inch the pop princess in Molly Goddard’s tulle confection for the launch of her Fenty beauty range; Villanelle would be proud.

3. Met Ball 2015

The dress that spawned a thousand memes. Okay, it’s another Met Ball look, but this one will go down in the event’s history as one of the most adventurous dresses ever. Wearing a dress from an emerging Chinese designer, the singer was superimposed into frying pans and as onto plates as a pepperoni pizza — Instagram gold.

4. CFDA Awards

Who could forget the dress that was accidentally see-through? Covered in glinting Swarovski crystals, RiRi was surprised when this Adam Selman number turned transparent under the red carpet lights at the CFDA Awards in 2015. It worked in his favour, though, firmly putting the US designer on the international map when the image was picked up by almost every global news outlet ever.

5. Suits in Seoul

Perhaps the biggest, baggiest suit of all time, Rihanna shows that she’s not all ball gowns during the launch of her Fenty Beauty range in Seoul. With matching stilettos, no top under the blazer and a fuchsia lip, RiRi shows us the true meaning of power dressing.
