Feta pasta has grown in popularity after a TikTok trend inspired huge numbers of people to try the delicious dish. Express.co.uk explains the best way to cook feta pasta at home, and it’s a super easy recipe.

Baked feta pasta has been around for a number of years, after a Finnish blogger introduced the world to the recipe.

Since then, a number of social media food gurus have taken the opportunity to give it a go.

The end result has left cheese fans drooling, and inspired them to rush to the cheese aisle at the supermarket.

People that have tried to make their own feta pasta have all explained how easy and delicious it is.

One person wrote on Twitter: “The tiktok feta pasta thing – 10/10 recommend.”

Another said: “I just made the feta pasta recipe from TikTok… and it was really good.”

“So I made that viral pasta recipe with feta and it was actually amazing,” added another fan.

One Tweeter said: “Sooo we made that viral feta pasta and it actually turned out good.”

A feta pasta fan tweeted: “Made that #fetapasta dish…well lads, I am very pleasantly surprised! It’s lovely. And my 17 year old has absolutely horsed it down…if it got his seal of approval, it’s good!”

How to make feta pasta

To make your own feta pasta at home, you’ll need just a few ingredients that you may already have lying around the kitchen.

You’ll need:

  • Pasta – any shape or size
  • Feta – a block of feta has the best results, but crumbled feta works, too
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Garlic
  • Basil
  • Salt
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Olive oil

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius, and then combined your cherry tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and red pepper flakes into a large baking dish.

Stick your block of feta right in the middle of the dish, and then added another glug of olive oil and some red pepper, according to cookbook author MacKenzie Smith, owner of the Grilled Cheese Social food blog.

Put the entire dish straight into the oven, and let it bake for half an hour.

Crank the oven up to 230 degrees Celsius after the 30 minutes are up, and leave it for another 10 minutes.

“While it’s baking, roughly chop the garlic and get the basil ready,” wrote Smith.

“Remove the baking dish from the oven and add chopped garlic and red pepper flakes and stir. The residual heat will cook the garlic and pepper flakes perfectly.

“This is also the time where your whole kitchen will start to smell like heaven.”

Break up the feta and the tomatoes, and give everything a big stir. Toss in the pasta, and give it another stir.

Stick your basil on the top, and season your dish to taste.
