Kathryn Dennis’ boyfriend’s ancestors were owned as slaves by her ex-boyfriend’s family, her co-star says.

On the “Southern Charm” reunion that aired Thursday night, Craig Conover said that Dennis’ beau Chleb Ravenell’s ancestors were owned as slaves by her ex Thomas Ravenel’s family. Conover said Chleb’s last name is now spelled with two “L’s” to distinguish his family’s lineage from the Ravenels.

Dennis, 29, didn’t comment on the reunion about Conover’s claim.

Dennis began dating Chleb about six months ago, according to her account at the reunion.

She was previously in an on-again, off-again relationship with Thomas for years that resulted in two children, Kensie, 6, and Saint, 5.

Thomas, who comes from a prominent South Carolina political family, since welcomed a son, Jonathan Jackson Ravenel, with his fiancée, Heather Mascoe, late last year.
