Creepy footage shows pint falling off bar top hours after pub was closed

Eerie footage has emerged showing a pint falling off a table top in a bar hours after the place was closed for business.

The clip was captured on CCTV at The Ship Inn in Wolviston, and staff said this was not the first time spooky incidents have occurred at the historic pub.

Owner Nikki Waters, from the Tollesby area of Middlesbrough came into the pub the following morning and found the glass smashed on the floor, Teeside Live reports.

She decided to investigate CCTV footage to find out what had happened the night before.

The barmaid had cleaned up the bar and placed the draught nozzles in soda water before closing the venue.

Ms Waters, who owns the pub with business Carl Blake, said: "The pub was closed when it happened.

"We thought let's have a look at the CCTV' and it captured that."

The video, which was uploaded to Facebook , garnered mixed reactions from the public.

Some say water was trapped under the glass causing it to slide along the table and topple over.

However, the bar staff insist the table top was clean and dry before the incident.

Ms Waters claimed there were other spooky incidents that occurred at the bar and staff are so scared they fear going into the cellar alone.

She said: "The glass had been there for an hour before it moved – and there is nothing that comes down this road heavy enough to vibrate it.

"It is strange and some of my staff are scared and don't want to go into the cellar alone – and they want to be out before the lights are off."

"Different staff have reported different things.

"Nothing frightening – everyone's welcomed here.

"I was hoovering one morning and the kitchen door swung open. I stopped and wanted to say hello."

Emma Barrons, 36, a bar woman at the pub, said: "What happened was that one of the girls had left the pub for the night.

"But when we came in the following morning the glass was smashed on the floor.

"Nobody would have left the glass on the floor – it would have been swept and mopped up and left if ready for the next person."

Ghost hunters have been in touch with Ms Waters to investigate the strange happenings at the bar.
