Though the couple revealed that they’d spoken about marriage a lot, Kate was in “total shock” and called the proposal “very romantic”.

The Queen and Prince Philip

As opposed to presenting the Queen with an engagement ring, Philip went that bit further, giving her a ring and a matching diamond bracelet.

Asreported by Tatler , the prince commissioned Philip Antrobus of London to design the bracelet, using diamonds from a tiara belonging to his mother – Princess Andrew of Greece.
