Relations between the princes have been tense in recent months, but Harry and Meghan had an "affectionate" video call with Kate during her private 40th bash, a royal expert says.
"They did a video call," royal expert Christopher Andersen said. "They wished her a happy birthday. [It was] very private.
"Harry and Megan were not about to post anything the way they did two years ago. This time everything was kept private."
The news comes as experts said the two couples have come to terms with the fact their relationship is not what it was.
Kate turned 40 on January 9 but a close pal says she and Prince William are planning to host a joint 40th birthday party in the summer. William turns 40 on June 21.
The soiree is thought to be taking place at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, the country home where the couple reside with their three children when they’re not at their home in Kensington Palace.
On the day, Kate is said to have celebrated privately with her family. This is when Harry and Meghan reportedly dialled in to send their best.
Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti previously revealed Kate's official birthday would be "quite scaled back because of the COVID pandemic".
While Kate did keep things relatively quiet on her birthday, she marked the occasion by releasing three stunning portraits that served as a nod to the late Princess Diana and The Queen.
The mother of three, who shares Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, with William, wore her late mother-in-law’s Collingwood earrings and Three-Strand Pearl bracelet in the black-and-white photographs.
Kate honoured her majesty as well by wearing her Diamond Frame earrings while posing in a red Alexander McQueen gown. The photographs will be featured at the National Portrait Gallery.
