How to watch Love Island abroad – keep up with ITV2 series while on holiday

With the sun shining andthe temperatures rising, it’s safe to say that summer is well and truly here. But as things hotten up, many people up and down the country may be planning on jetting off to enjoy a much needed break overseas.

And while going on holiday may be a chance to experience some new sights and scenes, it can also cause some people to miss their home comforts – whether that’s their bed, shower or favourite TV show.

WithLove Island well and truly underway, and withthe explosive Casa Amor stick or twist recoupling causing more drama than ever before, it’s no surprise that people are wanting to stay glued to the action even on their holidays.

While the show may be easily accessible to watch on ITV2 or on the ITV Hub in the UK, if you’re jetting off on holiday it can be harder to keep tabs on the goings on in the villa as its content is geo-restricted.

But that’s not to say that you can’t watch Love Island when abroad. In fact, an easy way around the restrictions is to get access to a VPN (a Virtual Private Network).

VPNs are completely legal to use and allow users to suggest that they are accessing online content using a UK-based IP address. This means that it can get around the geo-restriction issue.

So, to watch Love Island outside of the UK, simply download a VPN (such as ExpressVPN or NordVPN) to a digital device and then select a UK server. Then log in to the ITV Hub as normal and you should be able to catch up with the Islanders cracking on.

You can also use the same method to watch ITV2 live, though you’ll need a TV license if you’re thinking of watching live UK television overseas. Additionally, if you are keen to watch the show live, remember to figure out the exact time difference between where you are and the UK.

The same method applies to watching Love Island in the US – any American viewers just need to buy a VPN and then similarly select a UK server when accessing its interface.

Following an extended episode of the show on Thursday (7 July), the drama in the villa is only set to get more intense as the couples cope with the aftermath of Casa Amor. So, if you’re heading away any time soon, accessing a VPN will be sure to keep you in the loop.

With many of the existing couples choosing to recouple, things quickly got heated asfans criticised some of the contestants’ “childlish” reactions to the events.

But further fallout is predicted after ateaser showed a tearful looking Jacques O’Neill talk about the possibility of leaving after Paige Thorne discovered that he’d been disloyal while getting to know the Casa Amor girls.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
