DEAR DEIDRE: I’M not sure what to do with my teenage girl who is going off the rails.
She’s 15 and has got in with a bad crowd.
There’s one girl in particular who is feral, drinking cider on our estate and causing problems outside the shops. She’s almost 17.

My daughter has been going around in a gang.
The police brought her home two nights ago after her friend was caught shoplifting.
My girl denied being involved in it and the police believed her.
She is now seeing a boy and she confessed to me about “doing some stuff” but not having full sex. I’m at my wits’ end.
DEIDRE SAYS: It’s good she talks to you. She is still looking to you – so explain why she should not have sex at the age of 15.
My support pack Under Age Sex explains more. If her boyfriend is over 16, he’d be breaking the law.
And talk to her about getting contraception when the time is right for her.
Explain why you are worried about her friends and that if she was to get a criminal record, this will affect her whole future.
You will find some emotional support regarding children through Family Lives (familylives.org.uk, 0808 800 2222).
