Kate Middleton’s 41st birthday celebrations as they’re expected to be ‘bittersweet’

In just five days time, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales will mark her 41st birthday on January 9th, however rather than being a cause of celebration, many royal fans fear that this year the occasion will be “bittersweet.”

The birthday, which this years falls on a Monday, will come just one day prior to Prince Harry’s tell all memoir, Spare, with the royal family already bracing themselves for the inevitable fallout from the contents.

Typically, Kate has always enjoyed her birthday privately and while last year, Kensginton Palace released a series of stunning photographs to mark her 40th birthday, this year is expected to be far more low-key, amid the ongoing concern surrounding Harry’s book.

Although the book itself will not be released until the day after Kate’s birthday, the day prior to it, on Sunday 8th January, two pre-recorded interviews by Prince Harry will be released to the public, one with ITV1's Tom Bradby, while the other is with American broadcaster Anderson Cooper for CBS.

As part of the memoir Harry is expected to follow on from the revelations and accusations fielded against the royal family in his Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan, produced alongside his wife Meghan Markle.

In particular, the book is expected to share more insight into his strained relationship with his brother Prince William and father, King Charles.

In a sneak preview of the ITV Interview before it hits our screens this weekend, Harry said: "I want a family, not an institution," adding: "I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back."

He also claimed that “the leaking and planting” of information had “never needed to be this way,” as he hit back at the royal family for their lack of support.

"They feel as though it is better to keep us somehow as the villains," he continued.

"They've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile."

With tensions already reaching boiling point, Kate’s birthday seems the most likely casualty to suffer from the upcoming book release, with the Princess’ day being understandably overshadowed by the uncertainty of the memoir.

However despite this, it hasn’t stopped the senior royal from making the most of her Christmas break, as she was spotted smiling and laughing throughout her royal appearances, including when she and her children joined King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla for Christmas at Sandringham.

During the festive period, the family of five, even found time to make a trip to Lapland UK so that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis could visit Santa.

As reported by The Sun, Prince William is also said to have treated his wife to a high speed test drive, as he emulated British icon James Bond and took her on a whirlwind date in a brand new top-of-the-range Aston Martin DBX707 – the world’s fastest SUV.
