Mars on the hunt for paid chocolate tasters – and you only need ‘good taste buds’ to apply

Got a sweet tooth?

There’s a job advert that might just tickle your tastebuds.

Mars Wrigley is currently on the look out for chocolate tasters to try their best-selling bars.

Here’s how you can apply for the delectable role.

Mars Wrigley, the brains behind Maltesers, Snickers and Mars bars, needs eight taste testers to tuck into its confectionery.

Working hours for temporary roles are 12 hours, four days a week.

The salary ranges between £9.76 and £10.25 – which isn’t bad given you’ll be guzzling sweet treats all day.

Thankfully, having a love for food is all you really need to apply.

The website urges applicants to offer their assistance if they have “good taste buds”.

While the job is open to everyone, the high demand is likely to make competition tough.

If the company likes a CV, they call an applicant to interview.

At the meeting, the aspiring chocolate tasters have to pass their verdict on different foods.

They will be presented with various products and must rank them on a scale from 1 to 15 for how sweet, savoury, bitter or salty they are.

Those who impress the most will then land the role.

They will then be put through six months of training with Mars Wrigley, before starting their role in Slough.

Linda Lopez, senior sensory manager at Mars Wrigley, said: “We are thrilled to be recruiting for our next group of Chocolate Tasters.

“We encourage anyone that has an interest in the textures and tastes of chocolate to apply – we’ll train you in the rest!”

To apply for the job, enter your details on the website before applications close on July 8.
