McDonald’s customer shares ‘free hot chocolate hack’ – but it divides viewers

A McDonald's customer claims he has found a way to get a "free hot chocolate" with your meal and made a video demonstration of his hack – although not everyone is convinced.

In the clip, uploaded by TikTok user @kyde14 on January 3, he shows how you do the trick, which some viewers joke feels "illegal".

He says, firstly, you need to ask the staff for a cup of hot water with your order which should be completely free of charge.

You then ask for a couple of sachets of chocolate sauce too.

He then squeezes the McCafe chocolate sauce into the steaming water and gives it a swirl around until thoroughly mixed together.

The end result looks just like a hot chocolate and not in the least bit watery, as you might expect.

"Enjoy," he says in the on-screen caption.

The video has been watched nearly 10,000 times on the video-sharing app and while many people were keen to try out the idea, others slammed it.

One person wrote: "Hot chocolate with a base of water is my issue, chief."

"You can call it anything you want I’m calling it illegal," said another critic.

Someone else commented: "I'm sorry but this ain’t it."

Hitting back at some of the negative remarks, the TikTok user wrote back: "BTW this literally worked so well and tasted so good but y'all hated for no reason."

In support, someone commented: "Bro y’all out here complaining about FREE hot chocolate."

This comes after a McDonald's fan shared her "mess-free hack" for eating a Maccies in ythe car by using the boxes to improvise a little tray.
