McDonald's is testing new chip boxes for deliveries – and it keeps them piping hot

MCDONALD'S is trialling new boxes help to keep chips piping hot.

The new packaging replaces the traditional open-top cone shapes with boxes that can actually close.

It means that your fries won't spill everywhere while they're being driven to you by the courier – and they keep your food warm.

But it will only be used when you order a McDelivery.

Fries are notorious for not travelling well – often arriving at the other end mushy and cold.

The new boxes were spotted by Paisley Billings, who has appeared on E4's Tattoo Fixers and Celebs Go Dating.

A McDonald's spokesperson said:  “We have recently been trialling a new box for fries ordered through McDelivery, and currently reviewing the results.
