A mum of a 14-year-old influencer has taken a drastic step in deleting her daughter's social media pages.
Mum Fernanda Rocha Kanner described TikTok and Instagram as "unhealthy" when she removed her daughter's accounts.
Valentina, known as Nina Rios, had a massive following of 1.7million fans on the two social media pages.
But since her mum feared her daughter would judge herself on "online feedback", she decided to delete her accounts.
claimed said the role of a mum was "not to be your buddy" as she admitted Valentina would not realise that in hindsight.
Fernanda knew it was time to delete her daughter's page when she logged on to see "30 identical selfies and little dances".
She said: "It's hard enough for you to find out who you are at 14-years-old.
"When there are 2million you've never seen in your life thinking they know you, it's even more dangerous. It's easier to lose yourself."
Speaking of her decision, Fernanda continued: "[Was it] Radical? Yes. And necessary, too."
The mum didn't want her daughter to grow up believing she's this character and didn't like the idea of her doing daily dances.
She said: "It's a sad generation for which this counts as fame."
Fernanda explained that she received praise from other mums for her actions, while other teenagers called her "possessive".
Nina told Brazilian weekly television show Fantastico: "I obviously wasn't very happy. I got quite angry."
Now the influencer is unsure when – or if – she will ever return to social media.
She added: "I'll choose. At the moment, I don't want to. It's going to be something that will only make it worse."
