DEAR DEIDRE: ON the day of my uncle’s funeral my girlfriend told me that she was leaving me. The next day we were back to normal but we’ve been round this loop loads of times.
She has been making my life a misery since lockdown began. We’re each in our late 20s and have two young children. There have been endless rows.

She quizzes me whenever I leave the house, which makes me feel trapped, but she goes out whenever she feels like it. She even went out in the car with her dad when he had a bad cough.
I feel it’s her way or no way. If I try to discuss things, she twists my words. I’m fed up. I have put so much effort into our relationship, while she makes no effort at all.
DEIDRE SAYS: Covid-19 has put strain on many relationships. You feel imprisoned but I bet she has felt trapped with two children to care for all day. Try to see you’re both on the same side, rather than taking the stress out on each other.
Agree a weekly plan for who gets free time out of the house and when, so you both feel you’re getting a fair deal. Can you have a family day out to put a smile on everyone’s face?
