Pisces is thought to be the rarest zodiac sign, with the least amount of people born under it. Maybe you are a Pisces and people are always surprised to meet a person of this group, or perhaps you’ve never met a Pisces. Express.co.uk chatted to Francesca Oddie (@francescaoddieastrology on Instagram) to find out why Pisces is so rare.
Pisces is ruled by Neptune, which makes them very creative and dreamy.
While these are both positive traits, this sign can come across as flaky and unrealistic.
However, Pisceans are undeniably magic, psychic, talented or just true romantics.
Pisces, like Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius, is a mutable sign.
This makes Pisceans adaptable and independent – they like to have lots of different friends and be on the go at all times.
They are artists, musicians, dancers, and anything that allows them to express themselves.
As an emotional water sign, Pisceans are kind, gentle, and generous to a fault.
They tend to put others’ needs before their own at their expense.
They are natural empaths and can tap into anyone’s emotions and take them on as their own.
This sign wants to help everyone but finds it hard to accept help, even though they are overly trusting.
Pisceans are hard to come by, apparently, with plenty of people claiming they don’t know anyone born under this sign.
Pisces and Aquarius are thought to be the rarest zodiac signs, but is there any truth in this theory?
Francesca Oddie says this is a load of nonsense – no zodiac sign is rarer than the others.
Why is Pisces so rare?
Pisces are not really rare, they’re everywhere you look!
The theory that Pisces or Aquarius is the rarest sign comes from the fact that February is the shortest month, and these zodiac seasons make up the month.
Pisces season occurs during the latter half of February, so people think there are fewer days in Pisces season and therefore fewer Pisces birthdays than any other sign.
However, every zodiac sign season is about 30 days long – the Sun is in each sign for an equal amount of time.
Pisces isn’t actually rare but it might feel as if this sign is a bit like gold dust.
Francesca said: “Pisces is ruled by Neptune, God of the sea so they are really elusive and you can’t pin them down.
“They are mutable water, like Gemini the twins, Pisces is two fish swimming in different directions and it’s the duality or plurality where they are everywhere and nowhere.
“In that case, you can’t really catch them, tie them down or constrain them in any way.”
