Super yacht wrapped in gold worth £16million sails into British waters

A super yacht worth £16milllion and wrapped in gold has sailed into British waters.

The Bellami arrived in Canary Wharf, east London, and belongs to hair extensions company

The impressive vessel is 170ft long and is now covered in 600 square metres of gold vinyl wrap.

It was covered in the shiny exterior following a 13-day project., which carried out the job, said the vessel is the "the world's largest chrome wrap".

But it has divided opinion amongst residents in the wealthy neighbourhood.

One said: "It's grotesque. It just shows that some people have more money than sense."

Another said: "This is all that is wrong with the world. You can't buy class."

However, one resident loved it: "I have to admit to being a little jealous. If I was a billionaire, I'd have a gold boat too."

The yacht can accommodate up 12 people and boasts  a large pool, a spa, a glass waterfall, six en-suite room, one master suite, a VIP stateroom, the double cabins and a twin cabin.

It also has a state-of-the-art hair salon so guests tresses are always in place.

The gold wrapping procedure, which is normally associated with cars, can last for several years and also protects the metal from damage caused by the elements and sun rays.
