We all know how ASMR can help you fall asleep – but did you know some UK accents are more popular than others?
MatressNextDay calculated the total YouTube views of the top 10 most popular ASMR videos for each UK accent.
It also looked into which accent people found the most soothing to sleep to.
According to the study, the Scottish accent was actually the most popular gaining over 10 million views on YouTube.
This accent is famous for its rolling r's, lower pitch and fewer distinct vowel sounds.
Meanwhile, the Irish accent took second spot with over 5 million YouTube views.
The Irish accent was recently voted the "most attractive" which could explain why it's in second place.
As for Welsh people, their accent also had a surprising number of searches gaining over 500,000 views.
Surprisingly the Scottish, Irish and Welsh accents are also considered more soothing than the English.
It didn't make the list until the fourth place with the Essex accent taking that spot.

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (AMSR) videos involve a person speaking softly to make someone feel relaxed.
With small movements made, this helps the viewer experience a tingling sensation which makes them feel chilled out.
Studies show that it can significantly reduce a person's heart rate and help them fall asleep faster.
UK Google searches for ASMR have increased by 22% since the start of the pandemic.

- Irish: 5,260,284
- Welsh: 504,901
- Essex: 452,660
- Yorkshire: 345,604
These five accents are the least popular for ASMR:
- Scouse: 19,193
- Geordie: 63,932
- Black Country/ West Midlands: 122,238
- Cockney: 195,263
- Manchester: 276,746
